A house*
A house and a city*
People in this house*
People in this city*
From many countries those people came from*
From the East*
Here those people live*
What joins them is the kitsch*

Poly*est*er > a dance-theatre-project about imigrants in Vienna > that focuses it’s “camera-eye” right into a Viennese district which is “home” of mainly foreign inhabitants from the East: East Europe, Middle-east and East-Asia. The heroes of Poly*est*er are born out of one of the neglected and forgotten streets in town, you can find them in those cheap shops, gambling-pubs, they might have to do with drugs and weapons, might be involved into prostitution and modern slave-trade. Each of them shows a very personal point of view on his home-country, gives in-sights into life-attitudes and traditions, and lives diversity and differences. Although staying in Austria, we are taken on a travel on one of the branchens of the former silk-road - Austria*Hungary*Romania*Turkey*Iran*Afghanistan*China - with the difference that the exclusive silk-goods of former times are being replaced by goods made of plastic and polyester. The performance will be presented in a strange in-between of humor mixed with brutality, dynamic, kitschy objects, sounds, different languages, and all sorts of varied face-disguises.
